Underground Density Characterization at Kinterra Capital’s Pumpkin Hollow Mine
Mapping ore density ahead of the production restart, this imaging program defined the marble-magnetite contact point within planned stope outlines at the Pumpkin Hollow underground mine. The outcomes delivered the density confidence needed to pursue the highest-grade zones first.

MINERALIZATION
Located near Yerington, Nevada, USA, Pumpkin Hollow is a fully built underground copper mine with more than USD $800 million of capital invested to date. Existing infrastructure includes a fully constructed production shaft, a ventilation shaft, a 5,000 short ton per day processing facility, and all ancillary facilities required for production. Kinterra Capital acquired the property in 2024 through its affiliate, Southwest Critical Materials LLC, and the mine is considered one of the top 20 copper assets in the US.
Under Kinterra’s ownership, Pumpkin Hollow has undergone a broad technical review to address historical gaps in density characterization and reconciliation and strengthen the planning basis for restart. Ideon was engaged in March 2025 to contribute density information in selected underground areas, alongside drilling, geological modelling and the wider mine-planning program. A 12-month muon tomography program was implemented in-mine and ahead of stoping, allowing muon-derived density models to be compared against Kinterra’s density block model and available drill density data.
